Staff Report
LAHORE: Attorney General Latif Khosa on Tuesday said the process for appointments of judges to the Lahore High Court (LHC) was underway and the governor was not bound to seek the chief minister’s advice on the matter.
Talking to reporters after his meeting with LHC Chief Justice Khawaja Muhammad Sharif, Khosa said following the Supreme Court verdict regarding PCO judges, the LHC was facing a shortage of judges, adding that judges would hopefully be appointed before the end of the court’s summer spell.
Khosa said his meeting with the LHC chief justice was “routine”. To a question, he said there was no difference of opinion between the PPP and the PML-N, and no political disorder in country. Khosa said the elected government would complete its five-year term and the opposition would support it as decided in the Charter of Democracy.
