ISLAMABAD: In a surprising move late on Saturday night, the prime minister removed Attorney General Sardar Latif Khosa and appointed him as his adviser. When contacted, Press Secretary to the Prime Minister Imran Gardezi confirmed the appointment of Sardar Latif Khosa as adviser to the PM, but did not name his successor. Sardar Latif Khosa is close to President Asif Ali Zardari. His removal gave air to speculation about political manoeuvrings taking place for the last few days. No reason for Khosa’s removal was cited and sources said the prime minister was satisfied with his performance as attorney general. They said in the coming days, Prime Minister Gilani may take another major decision regarding the removal of another key man as ambassador.
