ISLAMABAD, Jul 22 (APP): Punjab Provincial Minister for Local Government, Sardar Dost Muhammad Khan Khosa called on Federal Minister for Parliamentary Affair Dr. Baber Awan and discussed restoration of magistrate system and abolishment of present local government system. Dr.Baber Awan assured him that federal government would completely assist the Punjab Government in restoration of magistrate system, as has been informed by President, Asif Ali Zardari during his address to Punjab Cabinet.
Talking to APP Dr. Baber Awan said Punjab Provincial Minister also gave few suggestions regarding implementation of magistrate system, adding, the suggestions would soon be referred to the Prime Minister for approval.
Sardar Dost Muhammad Khan Khosa, besides restoration of Magistrate system also called for putting an end to the illegal occupation on official lands and reduction of inflation.
The Punjab government also recommended for the reduction of police power.
